Course Description
Don't let your time slip away!
Time is a commodity that we all wish we had more of. There are only 24 hours in a day, but it seems like we already have filled all that time, how can we fit more in? How can we get more time just to relax and enjoy ourselves?
The answer is through the effective management of your time. Time can be managed just like any other commodity, and this course will teach you methods to analyze your use of time, and give you hints and tips on how you can improve it.
After completion of this course, you will be able to evaluate current use of time and plan for improvements, and apply techniques to improve use of time as a business person.
While the course is written around time management in business, do not let this put you off if you are not currently working as a manager or supervisor. The techniques that are taught in this course are equally applicable in everyday life.
Course Requirements
Students will require a copy of Microsoft Word or any recent word processor to complete some of the worksheet assignments, as well as have a willingness to evaluate and be critical of their own use of time. Please note that while the course is based around time management specifically for business, all of the techniques can be applied in every day life, and so the course is open to anyone who wishes to improve their time management.
Course Goals
This course aims to provide you with an opportunity to evaluate your own use of time, and provide you with assistance, and techniques for you to improve your time management. Each lesson will build up your knowledge until you are ready to create an action plan that demonstrates your full understanding of the issues involved with improving time management. Course Materials
All course materials are provided in the form of six comprehensive course lessons. Each of these lessons will provide you with the core theory required for you to improve your use of time. Three sets of work sheets are also provided for you to complete the assignments. Finally, netlinks to useful websites also form a part of the course material.
Grading Policy
Grading is based upon a mixture of theory assignments, practical worksheet assignments and two tests. The practical work is based around three major assignments, which will have you analyzing your own use of time through time diaries (assignment one), time diary analysis (assignment three) and the creation of an action plan (assignment six). These three practical assignments will be worth a total of 50 Marks. The three remaining assignments will be theory based, where you will be asked to answer questions based upon the information from the lessons and your own experience. These are typically shorter, and will be worth a total of 40 marks. The two tests each contain 10 true or false questions and are work 5 marks each.
