Course Description

This is an advanced course in creating dynamic Web content using DHTML, Cascading Style Sheets, and Web Scripting. In this class you will quickly learn, through hands-on examples, how to add exciting and dynamic, cutting edge features to your HTML pages and Web designs.

Course Requirements

This class requires that you have a working knowledge of HTML, some familiarity with Cascading Style Sheets, and some first-hand experience at Web page creation.

Course Goals

1. Students will learn a variety of methods for creating dynamic Web content.
2. You will also learn the advanced application of complex Cascading Style Sheet techniques.
3. And you will also develop a working familiarity with various methods of Web Scripting.

Reading Materials

All required reading will be provided online as part of the course. Students will not be required to purchase additional software, books, or materials.

Grading Policy

Students will be required to score an over-all minimum of 50%, or 250 points, for the class in order to receive a basic passing grade. Grades will be calculated based on Lessons submitted, Assignments and Quizzes completed, and regular participation in Class Forum discussions. You can score a possible 355 points for Assignments, and Quizzes completed. The remaining points are alloted for Lessons completed and postings in Class Forum discussions.

Class Format

This class is designed to be completed in six weeks. Students should plan on completing one Lessson, one Assignment, and one Lesson Quiz each week. Quizzes and Assignments will be graded based on accuracy and demonstrated understanding of the Lesson content.

Certificates

For this class, a Certificate of Merit will be issued for each student who completes all six Assignments. A Certificate of Class Participation will be issued for each student who posts 5 discussion items in the Class Forum. A Certificate of Academic Excellence will be issued to each student who completes all six Lessons. Finally, a Certificate of Outstanding Achievement will be issued to each student who completes all six Lessons and Assignments.
