Course Description

This photography course will cover the art and science of wedding photography. In this course you will learn how to prepare and present a beautiful wedding album from start to finish, wedding checklists, and how to design low-cost decorations for weddings. This course will also include information on how to open a portrait studio, how to get clients with free advertising and promotions, how to get and keep track of clients in a new or existing portrait.

For this course you will need an automatic 35mm camera with an on-camera flash or a simple digital camera for submitting photo's. (for further information refer to the course syllabus)

Course Requirements

You must have an automatic 35mm camera with a on-camera flash or a simple digital camera for submitting photo's.

You may submit your photos through the mail or online through an online photo album. Because this is a self-paced course you are not required to submit assignments or quizzes on any planned date. You may take your time with each lesson and then submit them when you feel comfortable with the work you have prepared

Course Goals

To create a sample wedding album for ones' own wedding or for a client if you plan to open a portrait studio.

If you are planning on taking your own wedding photos then you will have all the information needed to design your own professional wedding album at a fraction of the cost.

If you are an aspiring photographer my goal will be to have you set up a complete business plan and wedding photography portfolio in order to start your business simply and easily.

Reading Materials

There will be several guides and sample portrait albums for you to review which are provided in the class lessons.
There are forums in this course where you are encouraged to post questions or help answer questions. Otherwise there are no books or quides for you to purchase. All written material will be within the coursework provided.

Grading Policy

There will be assignments and quizzes testing knowledge of the course reading material given. You will also be graded on portraits you submit for review.

Certificates Offered

There will be several certificates offered including: Class Participation, Certificate of Merit and Outstanding Achievement.

Time Required To Complete Course

This is a self-paced course that you take on your own time and progress at your own speed. No time limits are given to complete this course; however, it can be easily finished in 4-8 weeks depending on the amount of time each week you can devote to covering the material, the assignments and quizzes.

Why others have taken this course!

There are several reasons why you may opt to take this course now. Number one you may be planning your own wedding or number two you may want to enter the glamorous field of Wedding Photography in which to bring fulfillment or personal financial gain. Here is a comment I received from one of my students on why she personally has taken this course:

"..I took it for a couple of reasons. I am not officially engaged yet, but wanted some ideas and also I want to open up a studio of my own on day specializing in Wedding Photography. My boyfriend's sister is actually getting married in July and she asked me to be her photographer. I just wanted some more knowledge and information. We also plan to go into business together. She wants to be the Wedding Planner/Catering and I want to be the Photographer. So far the course is all that and more. Thanks so much for the valuable information on all of the above. The price was right too. Wow, can't ask for better than that!"
