Course Description
Intermediate Biblical Counseling takes the student one step closer to serving people in crisis.
-In this course, Marriage Counseling is discussed at length. Biblical references show the differences between men and women and how Christ commands us to walk in each others shoes, that we may know one another more fully.
- Students will master the steps to effective data gathering, walk through a "face off" for couples counseling, and gain insight into Biblical Counseling Methodology.
- Christ's plan for personal financial freedom and how to counsel others to achieve wealth and success will be implemented.
-Understanding sexual differences and creating a Dynamic Relationship will be covered.
-Students will learn how to address couples with marital issues, resolve the issues, and begin anew in a relationship that God will Bless and honor.
Students should be prepared to be challenged and enlightened.
Course Requirements
Students are not required to take the Beginner Biblical Counseling Course, but it is highly recommended as each course builds from the last one.
Students are required to complete each lesson and assignment. Tests for each class will determine a large portion of the overall grade. A final exam must be taken to complete the course.
Course Goals
-Students will learn how to apply Biblical principal when counseling and in every day life.
-Students will learn to place God at the helm of all counseling, and be able to understand scripture and how it applies to given situations.
Reading Materials
The King James Version of the Bible will be referenced, and some reading assignments from the Books of
I Corinthians, John, and Acts will be implemented.
All other reading material is found in the course lessons and on the WebLinks provided. Be prepared to answer questions from the Links on the final exam. No other purchased reading material is required.
Grading Policy
Grading is done on a pass - fail status.
Students receiving less than 75% should retake this course. 95-100-A - 88-94 - B - 81-87 - C 75-80 D Below 75 Failing
Passing students who meet the criteria listed for certificates, will be issued certificates of MERIT, ATTENDANCE, PARTICIPATION, and OUTSTANDING ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT. Letters of recommendation will be issued to those students who request them, and who have successfully completed this course.
The Next Step
Upon completion of this course, students are encouraged to sign up for ADVANCED BIBLICAL COUNSELING 1.
In the advanced class, case studies will be discussed, students will have the opportunity to assess case studies and offer Biblical answers to client issues. Also in the Advanced course, working with MR (Mentally Retarded)and other vulnerable adults in therapy.
