Course Description

"How to Get Your Book Published" gives you an inside edge and takes the mystery out of getting published. It walks you step-by-step on the path that has lead other writers to their success, revealing the unspoken elements editors, agents and publishers must see in queries, proposals and synopses. You will learn to write knock-their-socks-off query letters, pizazzy proposals, snappy synopses, and magnificent masterpiece manuscripts; get hot tips that make the big difference; and find out secret ways for making those "right" connections. From discovering why large publishers aren't always the best, to understanding the key ingredients of best-selling success, this course has been praised for teaching aspiring authors what they are not told, but must know.

Course Requirements

1. A serious interest in getting your writing published.
2. Have a manuscript in progress or book idea in the creative stages of development.

Course Goals

To outline the steps necessary for getting published. To provide a clear birds-eye view of editors, agents, publishers, distributors, and various other aspects of the publishing industry. Impart steps that can give you an edge in getting published, from an insider's perspective in getting an edge through insider

Grading Policy

There is a total of 90 points possible for this course. Each assignment or quiz has up to 10 points for each.
70% if you want a Certificate of Achievement. Otherwise, grading is not applicable.
