Course Description

Are you ready to take charge of your kitchen? Have you been thinking about cooking up a new recipe but not sure where to start? Is your spouse complaining that they are tired of eating out all of the time?
 
If you answered yes, to the above questions, then you are going to enjoy Cooking for the Beginner. This course will teach you the basics of cooking. We will learn how to safely move around in a kitchen and to be able to stock our kitchen full of the basic cooking essentials. Students will get the opportunity to learn new and easy to prepare recipe's along with learning cooking terms and knowing which utensils to use when prepping a meal.
 
If you are ready to learn how to cook but just not sure where to start, then join us today and begin cooking a home cooked meal in minutes (while having fun too)!

Course Requirements

 In order to maximize the most out of this class, a student should have access to a working kitchen.  A working kitchen includes a stove and a refrigerator.  You should have pots and pans along with some bowls to get the most out of our cooking experience together.  You will have to be able to use measurements, both liquid and dry.
You should also be able to read at a high school level.
 

Course Goals

After completing this class I would like for you to be able to cook a hearty breakfast,  a delightful lunch and a full dinner for yourself and your family.  I hope that this course will give you confidence in your cooking skills and start a life-long love of cooking.

Grading Policy

This course is Pass or Fail. You will need 70% or higher to pass. I am always available if you have any questions or concerns. My goal is to help you successfully complete this course!
