Course Description

For penguin lovers and those wanting to know more, this class will introduce students to the lives of these amazing birds. Learn about penguins from all over the world - from the Galapagos Islands to Antarctica. Just how do they live on land and at sea? Explore the remarkable lives of penguins, and discover more.

Course Requirements

Students are expected to have a lively curiosity and desire to learn about penguins. Children under 13 are required to enroll with a parent.

Course Goals

Animals for Everyone: Penguins can be a good multidisciplinary course for upper and middle grades. Students will be challenged in their ideas about penguins. They will learn the anatomy of penguins - how they can live in the sea. Then, they will discover the great variety of penguin species. In addition, students will investigate the places that penguins live, and the oceans they swim in. People-penguin relations will be discussed. Discover what explorers and others thought of penguins.
