Course Description

Coordinating media briefings is an art - and a lot of work!  There is so much behind the scenes that the public does not see, so much more than a guy standing behind a few microphones with reporters shouting questions at him.  There is work and planning involved to pull these events off with relatively few issues.

This class will prepare students to coordinate media events, press conferences and media briefings. Students will learn about location, set-up, press kits, organizing speakers and other issues regarding such events.  This course is designed to prepare students for coordinating media briefings in non-profit, government, retail and corporate industries.  Students will walk away from this course with a solid understanding and a clear blueprint for putting together media events.  This course is designed for anyone who is interested in pursuing a career with the media, public relations, public affairs, broadcast operations, etc.
