Course Structure

This course consists of eight progressive lessons and each lesson has to be completed before going on to the next lesson. You will be required to take a quiz at end of each lesson.

Course Requirements

Sewing machine is necessary for constructing projects. Ability to thread sewing machine, thread bobbin, adjust stitch tension, sew forward, reverse and zig-zag stitches

Course Goals

To help my students accomplish the basics of sewing.
To realize that sewing is a learned craft which has therapeautic value and satisfaction.
That students be interested in advanced learnings which follow in 'intermediate sewing.
To gain confidence and satisfaction in the sewing of garments.

Course Materials

Course materials required:

Note book for lessons, samples.
Sewing machine
Sewing shears, cotton fabric, thread, small scissors for cutting threads, steam iron for pressing as you sew, pattern(s) for garments.

Grading Policy

Each end of the lesson (10 pt.) quiz and feedback of project progress will be required in order to move forward and complete this course.
Participation and progress reports from students (with a scanned photo of projects) is strongly encouraged.
