Course Outline

1. Introduction (Putting Concordance into the Proper Perspective) - What exactly is Concordance 8? How can I utilize Concordance 8 to effectively manage a case in litigation.
2. Getting Started (Becoming Familiar with the Structure of Concordance 8) - Viewing, Table Layout, Tally, and Ssearching in Concordance 8.
3. Learning How to Search in Concordance - Using Search Operators, Tagging, and Tag/List Management in Concordance 8.
4. Learning Transcripts, Annotations, Issues and Printing- Utilizing Transcripts, Annotations, Issues, and Printing in Concordance 8.
5. Learning Opticon 3 Functions - Viewing Images, Navigating, and Producing Images in Opticon 3.

Course Requirements

Concordance 8 and Concordance Image/Opticon 3 - Beginner Level is entirely self-contained. Everything you need to complete this course is available to you -- for free -- in the Virtual Classroom. There are no books or other materials to buy. In addition, this course is open to everyone, regardless of prior education or experience. All you need is a computer, an Internet connection, and a strong desire to succeed, you are welcome to join us.

Course Goals

Concordance 8 and Concordance Image/Opticon 3 - Beginner Level will fully-prepare you to enter the litigation technology arena as a proficient end-user. It will teach you the skills needed to effectively utilize Concordance 8 and Concordance Image/Opticon 3 in a employed capacity in a law firm or other corporate office setting.

You are not 'required' to purchase books for this class. All materials will be provided online or through class net links.

Grading Policy

Grading will be based upon a 100 point system. Grades of 70 and above are passing. This course is self-paced. Coursework consists of lessons with related assignments, and tests.
Certificates are offered. Certificates you can earn through this course: Certificate of Attendance, and Certificate of Academic Excellence
