Course Description
This class is for the design beginner with a concentration on creativity. When a person walks through the threshold of your home, they should instantly get an idea of who you are. Decorating can be a very therapeutic and creative way to let your personality shine. In this class you will learn, through Interior Design tips, how to decorate your home in a way that displays your own creativity. You will also learn how to think outside of the box and how to create new ideas for your home decor. There are many "How to" projects and ideas for creating personal, interesting projects to use in your home. After all, you should be surrounded by things that you love and things that reflect who you are. Be creative! You can do it!
Course Requirements
Students need to be able to search the Internet and type in Internet addresses. The student must have a highschool reading and writing level.You do not have to have any previous education or experience in Interior Design.
Course Goals
This class is for personal use and/or can be used in conjunction with other classes to receive an Interior Design Certificate. After this class, you will be able to use the information you have learned to decorate successfully in your own home, or for clients.
Students will learn how to enhance their home by displaying their creativity through their accessories. Students will also learn how to enhance their home by creating accessory displays by using themes, varying heights, and color.
Course Materials
This course will require the use of the Internet as well as the knowledge to search the Internet for Interior Design specifics.
Grading Policy
I will grade each assignment, test, and quiz so that if all completed, they will equal 150%. Each test, quiz and assignment is worth 10 points.
Disclaimer
This course is organized by a "start to finish" decorating style. Start with lesson one as if you were starting to decorate a room. The last lesson would include the finishing touches on a room.
This course will not provide certification and is intended for personal use only.
Pace
Each student may work at his/her own pace during this class. The amount of time to finish will vary depending on the students' determination and motivation.
