Join now and you can start receiving information on conducting your own genealogical research.

Course Requirements

You are required to search one side of your grandmother s family and one side of your grandfather s family. You are required to research at least five generations of each side of your family.

You may want to search both of your grandparents family because this will provide you with your maximum results and then you can narrow your search down to one line on each side of your grandparents family. You are required to write a paper and a journal about your findings. You will need dedication in order to meet your deadlines and the requirements for the course.
Note: Exception will be made for those that their ancestors did not keep written record and are unable to further their genealogical search.

Course Goals

The goals of this course are to provide you with the resources and tools necessary for researching your family history. The goal of the first lesson is for you to find basis information for your genealogical research. The goal of the second lesson is for you to locate specific records such as birth, marriage and death records, cemetery listings, court records, immigration, and other records that relate to your ancestors history. Your next goal is locating web sites that will provide you with information for researching specific states in the United States relating to your ancestors. The fourth goal is locating genealogical records in other countries relating to your ancestors. The last goal is for you to pull all your resources and research together into a written record and uploading your genealogical written record to a database for future researchers.
