Course Description


Receive Mediation training and learn how to help disputing parties preserve relationships, better control outcomes, and save time and money.

Mediation is a simple concept used with tremendous success by many supervisors, human resources managers, attorneys, family counselors, teachers, professionals, business and community leaders. As a professional mediator you will attain proven skills and techniques for helping people resolve their workplace, family, or business dispute with a mutually acceptable agreement. In this course you will learn how people behave when they have a conflict, and the 5-stage mediation process in which you will know what you have to do, why, when, and how throughout opening statement to the draft of a final agreement.

To enroll in this class, you don't need any specific experience or education. The only requirement is your motivation to acquire practical mediation and dispute resolution skills that you can apply immediately in your professional life.

Course Requirements

No specific experience or education is required. To successfully complete this class, you are expected to:

  • Check in at least twice a week
  • Complete all lessons and assignments

Course Goals

By the end of this class, you will know:

  • The strategies and techniques used in mediation
  • How the 5-stage mediation process works
  • How to mediate simple disputes

Grading Policy

You will be graded on all assignments and tests. You will be awarded a Certificate of Merit for completing all lessons or a Certificate of Outstanding Achievement for completing all lessons and assignments.
