Course Description
Do you feel overwhelmed? Tired? Does it seem there are not enough hours or even seconds in the day? Who doesn't feel like this from time to time? Become a Stress Reduction Specialist and push those feelings aside. Allow this course to offer you the support you need to reduce the stress in your life. Gain support from the instructor and fellow classmates. Learn effective techniques, and understand the history of stress reduction. Practice relaxation and coping skills on yourself and loved ones. Even if you are not suffering the harsh effects of high stress, perhaps you would benefit from learning about stress relief to help out a loved one. By enrolling in this course you will equip yourself with the knowledge and tools needed to properly control stress levels, and minimize its grasp during times of obvious turmoil. Change your life, feel better about yourself, and wake each morning with a new plan to tackle the busy day ahead.
Course Requirements
Requirements:
*Microsoft Works or Word Perfect
*A Journal (if you don't want to buy one, simply staple several sheets of notebook paper together, or use a notebook). You will benefit most if you have a nice journal in book form however.
HIGHLY Recommended:

Course Goals
*Teach students what stress is, and the difference between Eustress and Distress
*To teach each student, the dangers of high stress
*To teach each student how to appropriately assess high stress in others and themselves
*To teach students effective strategies for dealing with stress
*To offer personal support to those students who need it to help them deal with the stress in their lives. Course topics include: *History of stress
*the effects and affects of stress
*stress and relationships
*relaxation techniques
*basic coping skills
*creating a stress action plan

Disclaimer
This course, if taken seriously, can be completed on average in one month. However, you may take longer if you wish.
To finish this course in one month, attending class at least twice a week may prove helpful. Your assignments can be completed throughout the week. Remember though, you are not running a race with this course. It won't do you any good to speed through it, and absorb nothing. Plus, we wouldn't want this course to "stress you out" now would we?
You do not need prior experience or education in the Mental health field to complete this course. The concepts taught in this course can be of benefit to all.
